Cheesy croissants from the oven with Beemster Belegen & garlic butter

Lunch dish. 4 persons. Preparation 15 min. + 15 min. oven time

Ingredients

  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 1 toe of garlic
  • 7.5 g fresh parsley
  • 4 slices Beemster Belegen 48+
  • 50 gr cream cheese
  • 4 fresh croissants

  • round baking dish (Ø 28 cm, greased)

Prepare

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Melt the butter in a saucepan, squeeze the garlic over it, remove from heat and let cool slightly. Meanwhile, finely chop the parsley.
  2. Halve 2 slices of cheese widthwise and cut the remaining slices into smaller pieces. Mix the cream cheese with 2/3 of the parsley and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cut the croissants open and spread the bottom halves with the cream cheese mixture. Spread the half slices of cheese on top and cover with the top halves of the croissants.
  4. Spread the croissants over the bottom of the baking dish. Pour the garlic butter on top and divide the pieces of cheese between them. Bake the croissants about 15 min. in the center of the oven. Before serving, sprinkle with the rest of the parsley.
