Plate cake with caramelized onion, Beemster® Grass cheese and Parma ham by Brenda Kookt
Drinks dish. 8 persons. Prepare 45 min.
Ingredients
- 4 onions, in half rings
- 50 grams of butter
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp light brown caster sugar
- 3 sprigs of thyme, riced
- 1 roll of fresh puff pastry
- 125 grams of crème fraîche
- 100 grams Beemster® Grass cheese, grated
- 50 grams of parma ham
Prepare
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion lightly brown in it. Then turn the heat down low, add the balsamic vinegar, caster sugar and thyme and let the onions sauté gently for at least 15 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with baking paper, roll out the puff pastry and fold over 1 cm from the edges. Brush the puff pastry with crème fraîche. Spread the caramelized onions on top and sprinkle with grated Beemster® Grass cheese.
- Bake the sheet cake for 20 - 25 minutes. Top the sheet cake with parma ham and garnish with additional grated Beemster® Grass cheese.
Preparation tip
Beemster® Grass cheese is only available for a few weeks a year. Is the grass cheese season over? Then use Beemster® Jong in this dish.
