Spaghetti with Beemster cheese meatballs
Main course. 2 persons. Preparation 30 min.
Ingredients
- 30 g piece Beemster Jong Belegen 48+
- 2 beef sausages
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 onion
- chili flakes to taste
- 400 g peeled canned tomatoes
- 150 g spaghetti
- a handful of fresh, chopped basil
Prepare
- Cut the Beemster Jong Belegen into 11 1 cm cubes of cheese. Remove the skin from the beef sausages and with damp hands turn 11 little balls. Push a piece of cheese into the balls and reseal them.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and brown the meatballs over medium-high heat for 4 min all around. Meanwhile, finely chop the garlic and chop the onion. Add the garlic, onion and chili flakes to taste (start with ¼ tsp so you don't catch fire immediately) and fry for 3 min on low heat.
- Add the tomatoes and crush with a wooden spoon. Simmer over medium-high heat for about 8 min. Stir occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package directions al dente. Drain and mix into the sauce. Sprinkle with the basil. Finish the pasta with some extra grated cheese.
