Six times gold for Beemster at German DLG inspection

Six cheeses from CONO Cheesemakers: Beemster Belegen, Royaal, Royaal Grand Cru, Beemster Oud, Beemster X-O- and Beemster Goat's Cheese won Gold at the DLG Awards in Germany, the prestigious cheese awards in the international cheese world.

Medals
Every year, the DLG-Testzentrums Lebensmittel in Frankfurt inspects hundreds of cheeses in various classes. The cheeses are called out unannounced each year to submit for judging. Experts assess taste, consistency, smell, exterior and interior in this inspection. In addition, a laboratory examines the composition of the cheese. Only cheeses that score high on all components are eligible for a DLG gold medal. Medals are awarded annually in July. As in previous years, Beemster was once again rewarded with several medals. And we are proud of that!

Tastiest cheeses
Cheese master at CONO Cheesemakers is Sjoerd Hiemstra, "Since 2005 we have been participating in this German cheese selection. These awards show every year how much the quality of Beemster cheeses is appreciated. "Our farmers and cows supply the tastiest milk, the cheese makers do everything they can to make the tastiest cheeses. We are extra proud because the Beemster X-O and the Oude Beemster have been awarded gold medals for 9 and 11 consecutive years respectively. That's what we do it for together, making the best quality cheese."
