Beemster Organic Cheese Fondue

Main course. 4 persons. Preparation 30 min. 

Ingredients

  • 400 g Beemster Organic
  • 50 g unsalted organic cream butter
  • 50 g organic flour
  • 125 ml organic white wine
  • 300 ml organic whole milk
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 small organic cauliflower
  • 1 organic bell bell pepper
  • 250 g organic peeled carrots
  • 250 g organic cherry tomatoes
  • 1 organic (baguette) bread

Prepare

  1. Coarsely grate the cheese. Melt the butter in a thick-bottomed pan and add the flour. Cook the mixture while stirring for 2 min. Then add the white wine and whole milk and bring to a boil while stirring and keep stirring until a thick sauce forms. Turn the heat to low. Add the cheese all at once and let the cheese melt while stirring with a wooden spoon. Season the cheese fondue with the nutmeg and some pepper.
  2. Divide the cauliflower into small florets and place on a pretty platter. Cut the bell bell pepper into strips and also place on a platter. Add the peeled carrots and cherry tomatoes. Slice the bread and put in a bowl.
  3. If necessary, put the cheese fondue in a cheese fondue pan and place on a warming rack. Serve with the vegetables and bread.

Serving tip
Also delicious: cook some (organic) pasta, such as fusilli, to dip in the cheese fondue.
