Cheese croquettes with Beemster cheese by Susan Aretz

Drinks dish. 10 pieces. Preparation 5 min. + 10 min. oven time

Ingredients

  • 100 gr finely grated spicy cheese, such as Beemster Signature cheese Extra Aged or X-O-
    optionally season with:
  • 1/8 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/8 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/8 tsp dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder

Kitchen Stuff

  • sampler of 7 cm diameter
  • baking sheet with baking paper
  • fine cheese grater

Prepare

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C. Grate the cheese in a bowl. If you want to flavor the cheese further, mix the cheese with the spices by shaking everything well. I must say quite honestly that I find them delicious both seasoned and plain, so choose your favorite preparation.
  2. Place your sampler on the baking sheet and spread a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in it. Spread the mixture evenly in the sampler then remove the sampler. Repeat until the cheese is used up, leaving some space between the cheese rounds.
  3. Bake your cheese croquettes for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven until melted and golden brown. Then remove the baking tin from the oven and let your cheese croquettes cool. Carefully transfer them to a wire rack and let cool completely so they become nice and crispy. Serve on a cocktail plate.
