Grazing table - drinks table with Beemster cheese by Brenda Kookt

grazing table drinks table with cheese

Drinks dish. Min. 10 people. Prepare 30 min.

Ingredients

  • Cheese - as far as I am concerned, the most important ingredient. Tip: vary with a number of different cheeses. The Beemster Signature shot cheeses are great for this, for example. The Beemster Signature Aged, Beemster Signature Extra Aged, Beemster Signature Royaal Grand Cru and Beemster Signature X-O- can be found on this table.
  • various kinds of (dried) meats
  • various dips and spreads. In this case, I used Beemster cheese salad, pumpkin hummus, cream cheese dip with herbs, Witch's cheese and fig jam.
  • crackers and dipsticks
  • nuts
  • dried fruit
  • olives
  • bunches of grapes
  • vegetables such as snack carrots, tomatoes and cucumber.
  • nut bread/ fig bread
  • fresh fruit such as orange slices, blueberries, apple or pear segments

Kitchen Stuff

  • tablecloth or tarpaulin
  • baking paper
  • trays or bowls to serve the dips in
  • spoons or knives for dips and spreads
  • possibly also a tray or drinks board with dish underneath to create different heights on the table
  • (cocktail) sticks for the olives and/or cheese cubes
  • decorations to dress up the table extra. Since it was in autumn theme we used mini pumpkins for this grazing table. In the Christmas theme you can think of Christmas greens, baubles and other Christmas decorations.
  • Optionally, you can place saucers and forks by the grazing table so guests can place their snacks on them. And napkins are handy, too.

Preparing - Building Grazing Table

  1. Building the grazing table goes in stages. For example, each time you grab a different ingredient group to fill the table. Put the ingredients together in groups, and when you have a larger table, make sure the groups come back several times.
  2. Make sure you cut all the ingredients before you start setting up the table. This works best. Serve dips and other wet ingredients such as olives in bowls.
  3. First line the table with tablecloth or tablecloth and then with baking paper or butcher paper. First distribute the trays with dips etc across the table. After this, place the (sliced) cheeses with the dips. Next, distribute the bunches of grapes on the table along with the other decorations of your choice. Next, spread the (dried) meat across the table and then the vegetables and fruit. Then the crackers, toast and dipstiks. Finally, spread the nuts over the still empty holes for filling.
